Meet our Valedictorian for the Spring 2023 Commencement Ceremonies. Cazembe Zubari is a Cincinnati, Ohio, native receiving a degree in Cybersecurity with a 4.0 GPA. After graduation, he will begin working as a Cyber Threat Intelligence analyst with PricewaterhouseCoopers. When asked about his experience at Grambling State, he said, "I knew I was at the right place when the first door opened. Now that I'm at the roads end after making use of all the opportunities Grambling has provided me, I have nothing but pride in my accomplishments and love for the friends and memories I've made along the way." Amazon Prime Video has a new documentary out that follows the evolution of black quarterbacks. It features and examines the careers of #GramFam legends James "Shack" Harris and Doug Williams. Shack Harris was the first black quarterback to start in and win a playoff game as a member of the LA Rams in 1974. Doug Williams was the first black quarterback to start in and win a Superbowl and he did it with the Washington Redskins (now Washington Commanders) in 1988. #gramspiritfriday #GSUHistory

Meet the Head of Cybersecurity and Technology Controls for Home Lending and Auto at JP Morgan Chase. Shlondra Amacker received her bachelor's in Computer Information Systems from GSU and went on to get two master's degrees - an MBA and an MHA in Healthcare Informatics Management. She was the first African American President of both the Association of Accredited Public Health Programs (2018) and CEPH (2019) and the founding Chair of the Dept. of Public Health Education at Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Stephanie Miles-Richardson now serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate Education in Public Health and Director of the Master of Public Health at Morehouse. Additionally, she was an Associate Director of Minority Health and Health Disparities Policy at the CDC and it all started with a biology degree from GSU. In 2012, she became the first female president of Central State University after years of working in multiple administrative roles in higher education. Cynthia Jackson-Hammond is our third D10 honoree. She is a native of Monroe, LA who graduated from GSU with a dual major in Communications and English and later an Education doctorate from Grambling State. She was also appointed to the Commission on Presidential Scholars by President Biden in 2022 after leading many initiatives. Find out more about her journey at gram.edu/d10.
