I have a conversion chart that Ivoclar sent or Ivoclar rep, seems like the chromoscope converts better to 3d than classical to 3D.... PM me if you need help, I may forget later......

Charles: You are correct. The Chromoscop DOES match up better with 3D than other shade systems. The Chromoscop has some of the "pinks" and "reds" in it, the same as the 3D guide. Attached is a decent guide converting both shade systems. Keep in mind it is only a GUIDE, use your eyes for the final decision.

You are very welcome! It is the best matching chart that I have come across for converting over the 3D shades into different shade systems. Just remember, it is a GUIDE, and the final decision is up to YOUR EYEBALLS!

Why not use vita on those PFM shades and charge more or not.....I use vm13, no staining required to match the guide and charge $5.00 more to help pay the big increase with vita porcelain prices.........
I use Argens Argelite 61, (Noble) Pd. 60.5% Ag 28% no zinc. With this much silver, I use Avante build up liquid. Paste opaques no problem, using powders, use avante liquid or other no-greening liq........
No greening, no checking and no shade guessing with stains to match the shade. Just one minute cooling with ramp......
Avante also makes porcelain to match 3D shades....alone with Ceramco, did I say Ceramco, sorry...........

"Look into my eyes, Do as I do, Say as I say" no just kidding I called because it got my curiosity up. They said it’s based on the old Vivadent restorative materials which she believed to be the chair side composites and what shades they matched up with.

Neither does anyone else.. Use Vita products if you can......
Most conversion charts are different. Check with a Shofu Rep, they should have one that might help a little better than other conversion charts.......

Hi Al, that is the way I wanted to say thanks to Six-pack for helping other technicians.
I got drunk to look at Miller Lite at mid-night too.

Rocky,
Call Ralph Larro @ 507 993 4837 (Nat. Acc. Manager for Shofu)
or Vlad Marsh, tech for Shofu @760 473 7400 hope this number is correct. Maybe these guys can give you a better conversion chart.
Rocky, I have conversion charts for Dsign, Creation, GC Initial, and Noritake porcelains, and their all different..... and that is why I use Vita porcelain for my 3D shades.

this is what i have come up with...
it started about 5+yrs ago...w/ a download you can't get from ceramco anymore...
have altered some of the shades along the way...
then...about a year or so ago...i got another conversion from shofu...incorporated that into what i had...
then, last month...buddy of mine did it for GC w/ the initial porc...
so...instead of looking of of 3 diff charts...and took the diff kind of porc out of the equation...
i simply CONVERTED the 3D Master...into a CLASSIC (took 2-3 hrs)
note...i believe a tooth...the shade guide...has an inside color...and an outside color...so...
the left...core...can be for OP (pfm)...or Zr...or press...whatever...
the right...is the 2nd bake if you will...
and use a light-med-dark inc accordingly
ps...i use the universal stain from ivoclar (inside...and outside)

im sure your conversion works well keltik, but i think that just about sums up how poorly 3d converts to classic!
